Medical Center Physicians, PA, will become Saltzer Medical Group, PA.

Joseph Saltzer migrated to Homedale in 1938 to start his medical practice. In 1941 he moved his practice into Nampa. In 1961 Dr. Saltzer invited Drs. Harold Brown and Robert Hay to join in establishing the first multi-specialty group in the state of Idaho.

The group practice was operated from the home of Dr. Saltzer until 1964 when a new clinic was built on Canyon Street. In 1976, with 17 physicians, new facilities were built at the current location of 215 East Hawaii Avenue. The Canyon Street building was donated to the Nampa School District. Over the past 40 years the group has grow to over 40 physicians, and employs over 250 people at locations in Nampa, Caldwell, and Meridian.

In celebration of its 40th anniversary in 2001 and to honor the principals and ideals of its founder, Medical Center Physicians is pleased to announce its new name Salzter Medical Group. The name change will be effective January 2001. this change will help preserve and honor the history of the medical group as well as help physicians and patients more easily identify the practice.
